MyersCadAssist has set up DAPA ©

Design and Play Architecture © was established in 2013 by Martin Myers with the assistance of Paul Jefferson.  Martin is an architectural technician registered with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologist with over 16 years experience within architecture now running his own architectural design business, MyersCadAssist.

Description:

DAPA © is design based architectural learning & play module to be delivered to children between the ages 5-11 (primary) years.  The course has been developed to introduce children in their early stages of development to the concept of architecture, design & the environment.  The projects undertaken emphasize multi-disciplinary, hands-on understanding about ideas and issues in the built environment.

Mission:

DAPA © mission is to produce a fun and productive framework to introduce children to architecture, design and the environment to catalyze critical thinking, creative problem solving and visual literacy.  Our course will promote children to investigate, invent and explore the subject area to develop a basic understanding of each topic.

At the end of the course parents are invited to attend an exhibit of all the work.

Aims:

- To encourage design and independent thinking

- To highlight how the children can influence the built environment in which they live

- To raise awareness of issues that we face and ask how they feel about this

- To engage the children in collaborative project-based learning

- To apply and synthesize their skills in science, technology, engineering and math (stem).

DAPA © can be part of your child's classroom, after school or summer camp program.  One time workshops or a series of classes are available.  A class can be designed to meet your educational needs.
